Future Project Plans

Today we will not have a work in progress post as I am still working on the same two projects from last week and I did not want to repeat myself. So instead today is going to be "Future Project Plans" day. Aside from the projects that I have in progress I have three projects that I want to get done before the end of the year. One of them is the Pair-a-normal socks I spoke of here.

The other two projects that I want to work on are as follows.

Jeweled Cowl by knitimo
Not my photo. This is the photo from the project page.
The yarn I have planned for this is this pretty yellow lace yarn:
Space Cadet Creations Luna Lace Weight Yarn in the color Honey
The only thing I am missing is the beads. I was looking in my bead stash but I do not have what I am looking for. I want to add multi-colored beads to my cowl similar to what the designer did with her cowl above.

The other project I have in my sights, which I know just about everyone is familiar with is Citron by Hilary Smith Callis

Not my photo. This is the photo from the project page
I love how this shawl looks in green so I bought this pretty green lace weight yarn for the project:
MissBabs Yasmin Lace Weight Yarn Merino & Silk in the color Ghoulish
I think with the random projects that I have in different levels of completion, plus the three projects I mentioned above will keep me busy through the end of the year if not into the New Year. If only I can add some more hours in the day for knitting.

What future projects do you have lined up?

Until next time, happy Knitting!

I really cannot have anything nice...

Pattern: Color Affection
Designer: Veera Valimaki
Pattern book: N/A
Yarn: Yummy Superwash Sock & Baby Yarn - 2 ply
Needles: Size 6 Knit Picks Interchangeable Needles
Pattern Rating: 5 out of 5

My Color Affection Shawl is finally blocked and I got home early enough to take some outside photos of my shawl. I am very happy with the way it turned out and eventually plan on making a second one.

Now that the weather is getting cooler I decided to wear my beautiful shawl today. Not even a full day with it on and already messed it up. I did not notice that one of the ends got caught on my purse and when I went to put it down it pulled one of the stitches.
Sorry for the crappy cell phone photo.
I am sure it can be fixed but it is just the principle of it! Why can't I have something really pretty that I do not mess up on the first day.

Oh well, I love it anyway and I know it will get lots of use. As usual you can get all the details on this project on my Ravelry project page.

Until next time, Happy Knitting!

New Yarn: Miss Babs yarn all day every day

Last Saturday I went to the MissBabs trunk show at Fibre Space and after acting like a totally nuts fan girl, I proceeded to add more yarn to my stash. Her yarn is just so beautiful and I had such a hard time picking what I wanted, but I think I came out with some great stuff and I did not make that big of a dent on my wallet.

First up is Miss Babs "Yowza - Whatta a Skein!" in the color "Oyster". It is her Worsted weight, superwash, super yummy yarn. Which I plan to make the short sleeved version of the Space Girl pattern.

Next up is Miss Babs "Yummy - Monochrome Sock & Baby Yarn" in the color "French Marigold". It is her 2 ply, squishy, superwash, wash yarn. I plan to make the Kiertoradalla sock pattern in this yummy orange color yarn. I have wanted a pair of Orange socks for a year now. When I saw this yarn I snatched it so quickly off the rack. Glad I did as other people were admiring the skein and it was the last one!

And lastly is Miss Babs "Leftie Yarn Set" in colors Peweter, Coos Bay, French Marigold, Frog Belly, Naples and Ruby Spinel. This will make the Leftie Shawlette pattern.

These patterns should keep me pretty busy for the next few months, I am not even counting the others I have planned so there should be no more yarn buying for me for a while.

Until next time, Happy Knitting!

Work in Progress Wednesday: Color Affection

This is not going to be a very long post because the only knitting I have been doing is the Color Affection Shawl and it is a monster of a project.

I am working on this project using MissBabs Yummy Superwash Sock and Baby Yarn in the colors of OOK, Coventry, and Cloak. The colors are awesome, they are different shades of blue which will work well with my work outfits when it starts to get colder. I also need to mention that the yarn feels so squishy and soft.

I was making plans to make another one but I think I will be putting the second one on the back burner. As much as I love the pattern it takes forever. I have been working on this pattern every free chance I have and I feel like I am no closer to being done.

Here are some progress photos:

First section of the shawl.

2nd section, two color stripes.
Close up picture of the 3rd section, three color stripes.
Full photo of shawl progress.

You can see more information on my Ravely project page and you can go here for the Designer's pattern page.

Until next time, Happy Knitting!
